The Castri Hotel came to be in two 19th century palaces in Florence,
the capital of Italy at the time, which on one side overlook
Piazza Indipendenza and Via Nazionale. The other side overlooks
a garden, measuring more than 1000 square meters, with palm trees,
two large magnolia trees and statues in terracotta and 19th century
marble.
After World War I the hotel focused on serving english clientele
from the times of Queen Victoria. After the World War II, it began
to serve an international clientele.
The spacious reception desk is where guests are welcomed on theri arrival, where
they may ask information, make arrangements for a taxi, museums or
tours of the city and take advantage of a rapid check-out.
